Live push notifications
Live push notifications that update in place
Send the notification once. When the story moves, the one already on your reader's screen is rewritten: the new score, the new status, the new headline, without a second buzz and without a second notification piling up.

The story moved on. A second push gets you muted
A match, a count, a breaking story: the first push is out of date minutes after it lands. The usual fix is another push, then another, and every one of them buzzes the phone and stacks up in the tray.
Readers do not mute a campaign. They block the whole site. A live campaign keeps them up to date with one notification that changes, so the update reads as news and not as noise.
How live updates work
-
1
Send the first push as a live campaign
Write it in the composer like any other campaign and mark it live. It goes out to the audience you pick.
-
2
Update it from the dashboard or the API
Change the title, the text or the link from the campaign page, or with one API call from your CMS or score feed.
-
3
The notification on the device is replaced
Browsers that support it swap the old notification for the new one. Silently by default, or with a buzz when the update is worth it.
In-place updates
Live push notifications. Send once, keep it current.
The notification already on your subscriber's device rewrites itself: new score, new status, new headline. No second buzz, no stack of near-identical alerts, nothing that reads as spam.
Every rewrite lands on the same notification thread. The device does not buzz again, your reader does not collect a pile of alerts that look like spam, and your unsubscribe rate does not pay for the follow-up.
What you get
-
One push, up to 4 updates
Each live campaign carries the first send and up to 4 updates, then closes on its own.
-
Silent by default
An update replaces the notification without sound or vibration. Turn on re-notify for the update that deserves attention.
-
One campaign, one report
Deliveries, clicks and dismissals of every version add up in the same campaign, so you see what the whole story did.
-
It keeps reaching new subscribers
While the campaign is live, readers who subscribe after you pressed send are reached too, without a new campaign.
-
An API for your own feeds
Push updates from a score feed, an election count or your CMS with the HTTP API, on Business and Enterprise plans.
-
Same caps and targeting
A live campaign uses the same topics, interest thresholds and daily caps as any other campaign.
Where live updates fit
-
Match scores
Kick-off, every goal, half time, the final whistle: one notification that always shows the current score.
-
Breaking news
The first line goes out at once. Confirmed details, the death toll, the official statement replace it as they come in.
-
Election and vote counts
The count moves for hours. Readers keep one notification with the latest figures instead of twenty.
-
Order and booking status
Confirmed, shipped, out for delivery: one notification that follows the order.

Live push notifications, answered.
It is the same idea for websites. Live Activities belong to native iOS apps. A SharePush live campaign is a web push notification that is replaced in place, so it needs no app.
