We build SharePush in Rome
SharePush is made by
, a small product studio in Rome, Italy.
Why we built SharePush
We spent years building analytics for news publishers at Second Breakfast. The same request kept coming back: readers arrive from search and social, read one article and leave, and web push was the one channel that could bring them back without an app or an email address.
The tools publishers were using had been built for a single send. A match, a vote count or a breaking story changes after the first push, and the only option was to send another one and watch readers block the site.
So we built SharePush around three ideas: a notification that updates in place, audiences built from what readers click, and articles that send themselves from RSS on a schedule that respects the reader.
What we care about
Fewer, better notifications. A reader who blocks a site is gone for good, so SharePush is built to send less and land more: daily caps per subscriber, inactive readers paused, and targeting by interest instead of blasting the whole list.
We write down what we learn, too: our web push best practices collect Chrome's rules and what works for each kind of site, with sources.
